Terms of service

These terms apply when you use derpypets.ca or buy from Derpy Pets, a business of Eagle Vision Video Productions Ltd. (“we”, “us”). By creating an account or ordering, you agree to them. Please also read our privacy policy and shipping & returns.

1. Accounts

• You must be 18 or older to create an account or buy. Children can draw; grown-ups upload.
• Keep your sign-in secure. You’re responsible for what happens on your account.

2. What you upload

• Only upload drawings and photos you made, or have the right and the artist’s (or their parent’s) permission to use. You keep ownership of everything you upload.
• You give us permission to store, process and print your uploads, and to send them to our service providers (including AI providers), only to make your book and run the service.
• Uploads and generated pages are screened automatically. Explicit, hateful or harmful material is blocked and may lead to your account being closed without a refund. Child sexual abuse material is reported to the authorities.

3. AI-made pages: what to expect

• Every page is generated by artificial intelligence and checked by an AI art director. The results are partly out of our control. They depend heavily on what you upload: the drawing itself, and the quality, lighting, angle and sharpness of the photo or scan.
• We aim to keep each drawing’s character, but pages are reinterpretations, not copies. Details, proportions, expressions and backgrounds will differ, more so at the higher Derp-O-Meter settings, which change anatomy on purpose.
• AI can occasionally make mistakes, such as a stray mark, a missing or extra detail, or a word in the scene. We don’t guarantee any particular result.
• You see one sample page before you order. That is your chance to judge the style. After you order, the remaining pages are a surprise and aren’t shown to you one by one before printing.
• If the art director isn’t sure about a page, we’ll ask you to pick it. You choose once: keep one of the versions shown, or ask for one final redraw. After a final redraw the art director keeps its best result, and no more changes can be requested. If you don’t choose within 3 days, we use the art director’s favourite so your book isn’t held up.
• Disliking the style, the scenes or how a drawing was interpreted is not a defect.

4. Prices and payment

• Prices are in Canadian dollars and include printing and shipping to the region you choose. Applicable sales taxes are added at checkout.
• Our printer bills us in US dollars, so prices are updated weekly to follow printing, shipping and exchange-rate costs. The price shown at checkout is the price you pay.
• Orders shipped outside Canada may be charged import duties or taxes on delivery. These are the buyer’s responsibility.
• Payments are processed by Stripe.

5. Cancellations, refunds and reprints

• Custom books are made to order. Making your pages starts as soon as payment is confirmed, so an order can’t be cancelled or refunded after that.
• No refunds on printed books once they have been printed and delivered, including for change of mind, or for the look of AI-generated pages (see section 3).
• If a book arrives damaged, misprinted (for example missing, blank or out-of-order pages), or is lost in transit, email ben@eaglevisionvideo.ca within 30 days of delivery (or of the expected delivery date if lost), with your order number and photos. We’ll reprint and reship it at no cost. A reprint, not a refund, is the remedy for these problems.
• Please check your shipping address at checkout. If a book is returned or lost because the address was wrong, a reshipment is at your cost.
• PDF downloads are delivered immediately and can’t be refunded once downloaded.
• If we can’t make or print your book at all (for example every drawing is blocked by the content filter after you pay), we’ll refund you in full.
• Nothing in these terms takes away rights you have under consumer protection laws that can’t be waived.

6. Using what we make

• Your custom book and its PDF are for your personal, non-commercial use. Print and share them with family and friends.
• Derpy Pets Volume 1 (printed and PDF) is © Derpy Pets. A PDF purchase lets you print copies for your own household; please don’t share or resell the file.
• The Derpy Pets name, logo, website and Volume 1 artwork belong to us.

7. Liability

We provide the service “as is”. To the extent the law allows, we aren’t liable for indirect or consequential losses, and our total liability for any order is limited to the amount you paid for it. We aren’t responsible for delays caused by printers, carriers, customs or events outside our control.

8. Changes and contact
